Folsom Turkey Trot Road Closures
Thanksgiving Morning
Natoma Street Closed 8:40am-10am
We are sorry for the inconvenience on Thanksgiving morning, but this great event has turned into a community tradition and raises a lot of money for our local food bank and youth scholarship. Last year we raised over $45,000 and over the years over $300,000. Thank you for your understanding.
Below are descriptions of how your neighborhood may be affected. We have divided neighborhoods into Zones. Please look at the maps to see which Zone you are located in and plan accordingly.
Overview: We have 2 runs. Both start and end at Lion’s City park (Zoo/Library Area) The 10K distance will start at 8:50am and runs on the Johnny Cash trail system. 5K starts at 9:10 and runs down Natoma St. toward Folsom Blvd. Both of these runs are what we call rolling openings. This means that as the runners pass a street, that street will then open up. So while we say Natoma Street will be closed 8:45am-10am, realistically, many streets will open a lot sooner. There are only a few neighborhoods that will be locked in. Please plan accordingly.
Riley Street: Riley Street crossing Natoma Street is the highest traffic crossing that will be affect. Please be aware and plan accordingly in your travels. This crossing will be closed from approximately 9:05am-9:30am. It will open as soon as the last of the runners pass.
